Atherectomy
Atherectomy
Atherectomy is a procedure for opening coronary arteries that are narrowed. Atherectomy uses a catheter, which has a rotating shaver at its tip. This catheter is inserted into the body through an artery in either the groin or arm. The shaver is designed to break up and remove the blockages from the arteries.
