Post Procedure Care
- The graduated compression hosiery must be worn continuously for the first 24 hours after your procedure.
- The bandages may be removed after the first 24 hours.
- Do not soak in a bath or hot tub.
- After the first 24 hours, you may shower.
- For one week after the procedure apply the graduated compression hosiery immediately upon rising in the morning and remove at night.
- If you experience some tenderness or discomfort at the site of the injection, you may use Extra Strength Tylenol as directed.
How the leg and injection site may look post procedure
- Some bruising may be noticeable on or near the injection site.
- You may notice a small hard knot at the injection site; this may or may not be tender to touch. This knot will resolve over a short period of time.
- The veins initially after the procedure will look worse before they look better.
- You may notice a brownish discoloration on or near the injection site. This discoloration will fade away, however it may take several months for it to completely fade away.
