Possible Side Effects

 

Every drug is capable of producing side effects.  Most patients experience no, or minor, side effects.  Possible side effects:

·         Common: Headache, upset stomach, heartburn, rash

·         Rare: Gastrointestinal bleeding, peptic ulcer, bleeding in the brain, abnormalities in blood count

 

Guidelines for Taking This Medication

 

·         May be taken with food to reduce stomach irritation

 

·        Take your medication at the same time each day

 

·         If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember; do not take it if it is almost time for the next dose

 

·         Do not stop this medication, unless directed by your doctor or nurse

 

·         Report any unusual bruising or bleeding to your doctor or nurse

 

·         Do not take these medications with over-the-counter medications, such as Ibuprofen, Motrin, Aleve, Aspirin, unless directed by your physician

 

·        Avoid activities in which injury and/or bleeding may occur since it may take longer than usual to control bleeding
