Midwest Heart Specialists Honors Jerry Stone
August 4, 1999
Midwest Heart Specialists recently recognized Jerry Stone, a Naperville resident, for his commitment and contribution to the success of their inaugural Heart for Life 5K Run/Walk. The event, held at the Hilton in Lisle on June 27th attracted more than 500 participants.
Midwest Heart Specialists cardiologists and staff joined their patients, families and community members in the 3 mile run and walk. One of the runners was Jerry Stone himself, an avid exercise enthusiast. In addition to providing the location of the run, he was instrumental in designing the course, gaining village support for the event, and coordinating day of event help.
The event was free to all participants, unlike most other runs in the Chicagoland area. It was initiated solely for the purpose of serving as a motivation to exercise because of the preventive benefits of exercise on heart disease.
It's the latest in a series of honors for this Naperville resident. On behalf of Midwest Heart Specialists, their patients and families it is one of tremendous gratitude.
