Switchboard Operator

Job Description

Operates multi-line telephone system to answer all incoming calls; screens and directs callers to appropriate personnel.  Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail.  Verifies patient appointment times, answers questions and provides callers with directions if necessary.  Utilizes paging systems.  Other office clerical duties as assigned including processing and monitoring reports, entering labs, sorting faxes and medical records support as required.  Exemplify MHS values:  Patients First, Teamwork, Excellence and To Endure.

 

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: three to twelve months experience. Ability to answer phones in a busy office and multi task. Computer skills and correspondence writing skills helpful.
