Responsible for the collection of accounts receivable. Assessment of outstanding balances on assigned accounts to determine proper course of action required to obtain payment on accounts. Answer patient and/or insurance phone inquiries; utilize claims software to check status of claim, submission history and eligibility. Contact insurance payers regarding outstanding account receivables. Follow-up on outstanding and delinquent accounts. Check claims to ensure proper ICD9/CPT coding and payor rules are followed. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum three years experience in the medical, billing or managed care field. Thorough knowledge of billing requirements and reimbursement methods. Basic computer and office skills essential; knowledge of medical terminology and Excel helpful. Knowledge of CPT and ICD9 coding. Exceptional customer service skills essential.
