Cardiac Nurse Clinician
Job DescriptionWork collaboratively with the cardiologists and Advanced Practice Nurses to provide patient care. Coordinate with the MD and APN to modify plans of care based on patient condition and/or response to treatment. Respond to patient phone calls. Function as a patient advocate by communicating patient needs to applicable health care team members. Recognize subtle clues of a clinical change in status to anticipate necessary interventions. Review test results and communicate findings to the cardiologist; identify abnormal test results and formulate plan of care. Provide patient education regarding disease process, diagnostic testing, medication therapy, diet and exercise. Conduct exercise stress testing and pharmacologic stress testing. Assist physician in office setting by obtaining vital signs, reviewing medication lists, histories, chief complaints and reasons for office visits. Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Registered Professional Nurse with licensure in the State of Illinois. A minimum of three years of clinical expertise caring for the cardiovascular patient population and/or related experience is preferred. BLS certification. Annual treadmill credentialing and ACLS as applicable.
